Economic Forum of Communities 2011 (EFC 2011)
May, 12 - 15th, 2011, Tollense Lebenspark, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany
In these stormy times of transition, crisis and change, it is a good time to refocus on the basics of life. We consider the actual “financial crisis” as a chance for fundamental reconsideration of many existing systems. International Communities, Eco-villages, Transition Towns, Monasteries and other forms of community living poses an extensive source of experience in this field. In an effort to think together, to cooperate and also give society the opportunity to learn from this huge reservoir of knowledge and experience, many communities have decided to meet, exchange ideas and cooperate more intensely than in the past.
Central issues of this first Economic Forum is self-sufficiency of Communities in the following areas: Land, Buildings and Infrastructure – Food – Water – Energy – Health – Communication – Money, Law, Organization – Substance Based Existence for all age groups.
Additional subjects: Intra- and inter Community Economies, Networking, Cooperation, Demonetarization, Science and the Influence of Communities on Society, Economy and Politics.
Situated in a beautifully landscaped park with traditional half-timbered houses, tree-lined alleys and a long idyllic sandy shore along Lake Tollense, the EFC will take place in the community of Tollense Lebenspark.
EFC is a part of the Integral Network of Communities, promoted by the Lebenspark Foundation and the Foundation of Communities. The Forum will be conducted in German and English using an Open Space organizational frame. Participants include German and International experts from many communities. Well known specialists, authors, highly paid speakers and politicians have also been invited, but instead of appearing on stage to listen and share their impressions.
The EFC is a non-profit enterprise in trust within the frame of an Economy of Giving. The organizers keep the economic figures transparent in the EFC Intranet, so that the information may be available to every participant. Payment for fees, housing and meals will be accepted in every Euro convertible currency including regional complementary currencies. Those who are unable to make full monetary payment are also welcome to provide a substantial contribution to the Forum in non-monetary form.
